FirstLine© Therapy Program

Kara Hayes offers a Therapeutic Lifestyle Program called FirstLine© Therapy. A therapeutic lifestyle means living your life in a way that improves your health. It means making choices every day that will enhance your health, enabling you to achieve a full, healthy life.

A therapeutic lifestyle is possible for everyone, but to achieve it you need to know which choices are good for you and which ones are not. This program will provide you with the knowledge you need to make healthy lifestyle choices each day of your life.

Many chronic health problems are from poor lifestyle choices. Consider the following:

91% of type 2 diabetes cases could be prevented by the adoption of healthy habits and choices.

The National Institute of Health recommends lifestyle changes as the most important and cost-effective way to lower cholesterol.

Lifestyle changes are now recommended in the treatment of the major chronic diseases in our society: i.e. heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, arthritis....

Lifestyle changes are also the key to reducing or eliminating many symptoms that are not classified as disease: i.e. fatigue, hormone imbalance, stress-related symptoms, and others.

The therapeutic lifestyle is based on the premise that many of the chronic diseases of aging—hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes—are not inevitable outcomes of the aging process. Instead, these diseases are largely preventable simply by making sound lifestyle choices. Things that many people view as signs of aging, such as low energy, poor memory, low libido, chronic pain, weight gain, are not signs of aging at all. They are signs of illness!

Changing Body Composition:

Body composition is a measure of the amount of body mass represented in the ratio of fat to lean body mass. Altered body composition usually results from increased fat deposition and /or loss of muscle mass.

A muscle is the body’s biologically active tissue and needs far greater amount of caloric fuel to maintain itself compared to fat. So a high ratio of muscle to fat increases your metabolism, meaning you burn more calories naturally each day. Furthermore, muscle is the source of proteins, which are responsible for the vitality of your whole body—loss of muscle=loss of protein stores=loss of function. In illness, muscle is the major source of protein for functions such as antibody production, wound healing, and white blood cell production. So if you have muscle loss, you have less protein stores to draw on when ill. So there is more to losing weight than just losing extra fat. Muscle mass must be maintained or increased. Muscle is needed to burn calories and necessary for overall health!

You will benefit in many ways with this program. You will have more energy, better sleep, less body fat, more strength, healthier skin and hair, fewer aches and pains and renewed vigor and vitality. There are five fundamentals of this program. They are:

1. Knowledge: A healthy lifestyle is all about processing the knowledge to make informed decisions that impact your health every day.

2. Balanced Eating: Balanced eating habits have a direct influence on excess insulin production, body composition, and disease prevention.

3. Regular exercise: A regular program of aerobic, strength training, and flexibility exercises has been shown to reverse insulin resistance, increase vitality and reduce risk of disease.

4. Appropriate Nutritional supplementation: incorporating a foundational nutrition program with targeted nutrients is essential.

5. Stress Management: For optimum health regular stress management programs help keep insulin and other hormone levels balanced, improving vitality.
